My name is Yukari and I am a Bay Area-based portrait photographer.
 

Photography has been my biggest passion.
I was always fascinated by taking pictures even as teenager, however, when I visited Europe for the first time at 18, that photography made an even stronger impression on me. The images I captured in black and white film accentuated the beauty of European architecture and landscape, and they were simply beautiful. That is when my passion was stoked and my journey to become a professional photographer began.  For a long time, my interest was in landscape and nature photography.  Since my daughter was born, however, my focus has shifted towards portrait.  I took picture of her everyday. Lots of pictures!  It became my mission to document her growth and share special moments with my family. 
 

And indeed, that is my goal as a photographer: to capture the precious moments of your children, family and you as a couple, or simply yourself.
 

Photos can tell the story of your life and you can enjoy and cherish them for many years to come. That is what I want to deliver to you.  When I see that my images bring smiles to my clients' faces, that is when I know have done my job.  I look forward to meeting you and discussing how I can go about creating those smile-producing memories for you.
 

I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, and moved to California when I was 20 years old. 
My husband Nicolas and I are proud parents to a beautiful and funny girl who is a great model for my photographs :-)          
 

Besides photography, I enjoy baking, reading and traveling.  Somehow, I have a huge interest in the lives of whales and plan to do more whale watching!  I love jazz, bossa nova, and classical music.
